To answer the questionnaire is completely voluntary, there are no required questions in this survey. Feel free to omit questions you do not want to answer. However, please keep in mind that this survey will be much more useful the more data is available.

This survey has 9 pages with 50 questions in total. It should take about 10 to 20 minutes to complete.
(The server needs to place a cookie on your computer in order to recognize you when answering the questionnaire.

There is a presentation and a paper available with the results of this survey. Both have been prepared for Linuxtag 2005.

The results of the first part of this survey are available here. However, if you did not take part in the survey yet, still feel free to do so as the collected data will be available for furter research (provided you agree).


This survey is part of the Master-Thesis of Tobias Escher for the MA Globalization and Communications at the University of Leicester, UK. The supervisor for this thesis is Dr. Gillian Youngs at the Centre for Mass Communication Research.
